AUTOSAVER began protecting vehicles against rust in 1989 as an environmentally sustainable alternative to chemical undercoating.
Testing by Independent IOS accredited laboratories under government oversight repeatedly demonstrate that AUTOSAVER does inhibit corrosion by slowing the natural corrosion process.
Over 35 years later, AUTOSAVER is sold by thousands of auto dealers throughout North America and around the world; many of whom provide new vehicle appearance warranties with the device.
While the original design was improved upon over many years, the new plug-in OBDII rust control device represents a qualitative leap forward in automotive corrosion protection.
How It Works
Proven Technology
When steel is exposed to moisture, ionization begins to occur immediately. Electrons are lost from the metal surface through this devastating reaction. If left untreated will continue until all the metal / alloy has returned to its original state.
AUTOSAVER slows this process down by continuously supplementing electrons to all exposed metal components, thereby reducing the loss.
Vehicles regularly face extreme conditions including bad weather, sand & road salt in the winter, salt in the air if you live anywhere near the coast ... humidity, paint damage from the summer sun, tree sap, bird droppings, acid rain, dirt & grime build-up in hard to reach places, stone chips, shopping carts, you name it! Automotive professionals know; it doesn't take long for a new vehicle's appearance to deteriorate.
Petrochemical undercoatings only protect about +/-30% of the actual vehicle, and must be re-applied regularly to maintain their effectiveness. When applied incorrectly, spray undercoating can create problem areas where water fails to drain & begins to pool.
AUTOSAVER was specifically developed to replace harmful petrochemicals with a non-toxic, environmentally friendly solution.
Unlike other devices which utilize the OBDII diagnostic port, AUTOSAVER does not interfere with any electronic systems.

Scientific Testing
Multiple independent laboratory tests performed under government oversight concluded that AUTOSAVER's patented technology slows down the natural corrosion process of an entire vehicle by applying impressed current to offset the loss of electrons as metal alloys degrade.

Summary:

Summary:
The AutoSaver was able to produce a cathodic effect slowing down the natural corrosion process on both galvanized and non-galvanized steel panels in the absence of an electrolytic pathway. Test measured changes in electrochemical potential of metal at the molecular level. Calculations based on the data from the testing suggest that the AutoSaver reduced the corrosion rate of the protected metal by over 99% in comparison to the control (unprotected) metal.

Summary:
Corrosion testing in compliance with ASTM B117-94 standard showed that metal panels protected with the AutoSaver experienced a slowing of the natural corrosion process by a factor of 6 when compared to identical control panels under the same conditions.
Compliance Testing
Canada Competition Bureau: The testing conducted in 2007 by ITS was ordered by the Canada Competition Bureau to substantiate the performance claims of the AUTOSAVER as an effective corrosion inhibitor for vehicles. The McGill University corrosion expert retained by the Bureau reviewed the testing and validated the results that showed that the AUTOSAVER did indeed produce a corrosion inhibition reaction.
Industry Canada: The testing conducted in 1997 by CRIQ was reviewed by Industry Canada which opined that the AUTOSAVER could be promoted as a device that can slow down the natural corrosion process of an automobile in conformity with applicable Canadian law.
